THINGS WILL CHANGE

It’s a “Things Will Change” Tuesday.
LORD WE THANK YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE THE SAME TO US AND FOR US, EACH AND EVERYDAY. AMEN.

There are two very familiar songs that I have loved most of, if not all of my life. They both speak the truth about change. I’m sure you know them. The first one is by Sam Cooke entitled; “A Change Is Gonna Come”. It says: “I was born by the river in a little tent, Oh, and just like the river I’ve been running ever since. It’s been a long, a long time coming But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will. It’s been too hard living, but I’m afraid to die cause I don’t know what’s up there beyond the sky. It’s been a long, a long time coming but I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will. I go to the movie and I go down town. Somebody keep telling me don’t hang around. Its been a long, a long time coming but I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will. Then I go to my brother and I say, “Brother, help me please.” But he winds up knockin’ me back down on my knees. There been times when I thought I couldn’t last for long. But now I think I’m able to carry on. It’s been a long, a long time coming but I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will.” The second one was written by Quincy Jones and sung by George Benson. It’s poetic words say: “Everything must change. Nothing stays the same. Everyone must change. No one stays the same. The young become the old and mysteries do unfold, Cause that’s the way of time. Nothing and no one goes unchanged. There are not many things in life you can be sure of, Except rain comes from the clouds, Sun lights up the sky, and hummingbirds do fly. Winter turns to spring. A wounded heart will heal, but never much too soon. Yes everything must change. The young become the old and mysteries do unfold, cause that’s the way of time. Nothing and no one goes unchanged. There are not many things in life you can be sure of, Except rain comes from the clouds, Sun lights up the sky and butterflies do fly.” Last year this time marked a significant change in my life. My Masonic Father Past Master Threston Charles Roots, 33*, passed on to that land beyond the sky and I accepted the fact that I was going bald. I had to let Past Master Roots go and I shaved my head for the first time. I prayed about my situation and GOD gave me comfort with my decisions. As we live we must face the fact that there will be changes in our lives. Some change will be good and some change will be bad. Some change will be major and some change will be minor. Some change will make us happy and some change will make us sad.  A change is gonna come because everything must change. Sometimes change is so hard for some of us to accept, but accept we must. Yes, we must accept the changes in our lives but through the change we can be rest assured that the GOD of our salvation will never change. He will always be GOD. He will always be on the throne. He will always be our guiding light. He will always be our protection. He will always be our deliverer. He will always be our King of kings and Lord of lords. He will always be the same. Yes, Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 KJV). Remember through the change in your life GOD will be the same and HE will help you through. Beloved, what was the change that GOD helped you through? What was the change in your life that made you realize that GOD is real and HE is able? AMEN.
