A MOTTO

It’s a “Motto” Thursday.

LORD, HELP US TO LIVE EACH DAY AS AN OLYMPIC STAR OF THE FAITH. AMEN.

Mottos are beliefs that we live by. Individuals, Fraternal groups, Churches, Cities, States, Businesses and organizations all have mottos that shape their way of operating. If they operate and live by that motto they are usually appreciated and honored for it. I have several mottos, but my main one is this “Lord treat me tomorrow the way I treat other people today.”

In English the Olympic motto reads: “Swifter, higher, stronger.”

Interestingly, I believe the Bible also has an Olympic text.

It is Isaiah 40:31 which reads: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” What’s your motto?
