It’s a “Trust In The Lord” Day
LORD, WE LOVE YOU FOR THIS BLESSED DAY, AND WE TRUST YOU WILL GUIDE US ALL DAY LONG.
One of the first things that we learn in life is to trust, and the first person we learn to trust is our mother. We trust that she will protect us, feed us, change us and comfort us when we need it. As time goes on, we learn to trust others. Now, trust is something we give freely and sometimes it is something that must be earned because trust causes us to put our well-being and in some cases our total lives in the hands of someone else. Now there are sometimes when we just freely give our trust without even knowing the other person.
Here is an example: when we cross the street in front of traffic we trust that the driver of the car that we are walking in front of will keep their foot on the brake. When we eat in a restaurant, we trust that there is nothing in the food to harm us. These are forms of trust that are given to others freely because of the way our society is established with its rules and laws.
So the message of the day is if we can trust others such as family or strangers we should be able to trust GOD. Trust HIM by HIS WORD and trust HIM by HIS ACTIONS. When I was a child attending Calvary Baptist Church, the Deacons would sing every Sunday: “I will trust in the LORD, I will trust in the LORD, I will trust in the LORD, til I die.” Go ahead I dare you to trust HIM. Somebody say, “Rev I trust HIM!” So today, who are you going to trust?
