It’s a “Perfect Church” Day.
LORD, HELP US TO BE THAT CHURCH WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLE. AMEN.
I think that I shall never see
A church that’s all it ought to be.
A church whose members never stray
Beyond the Straight and Narrow way.
A church that has no empty pews,
Whose pastor never has the blues.
A church whose deacons are never weak,
And none are proud and are always meek;
A church where gossip never peddles lies,
Or makes complaints or criticize;
A church where all are always sweet and kind,
And all to other’s faults are blind.
Such perfect churches there may be,
But none of them are known to me.
But still, we will work and pray and plan,
To make our own church the best we can.
At Bethany Baptist, we don’t have a perfect church,
But we serve a perfect God.
If you are perfect, please don’t visit us,
For you will cause a great big fuss.
But if you have issues, and you have sin,
We invite you to come and worship in,
Our church where we support one another
And Jesus is our Savior, our Friend, and our Brother
So will I see you in church one day?
