RULES FOR RAISING CHILDREN

January 26th

It’s a “Rules For Raising Children.” Day.

LORD, OUR CHILDREN ARE PRECIOUS GIFTS GIVEN TO US BY YOU. HELP US TO RAISE THEM IN A POSITIVE WAY. AMEN.

I want to share with you eight rules for raising delinquent children:

  1. Begin with infancy by giving the child everything they want. In this way, they will grow up to believe the world owes them a living.
  2. When they pick up bad words, laugh at them. This will make them think they’re cute. It will also encourage them to pick up “cuter” phrases that will blow off the top of your head later.
  3. Never give them any spiritual training. Wait until they are 21 and let them decide for themselves.
  4. Avoid using the word “wrong.” it may develop a guilt complex. This will condition them to believe later when they are arrested for stealing a car, that society is against them and they are being persecuted.
  5. Pick up everything they leave lying around – books, shoes, and clothes. Do everything for them so that they will be experienced in throwing all responsibility on others.
  6. Let them read any printed material or watch any kind of videos that they can get their hands on. Yes, let their minds feast on garbage.
  7. Argue with your mate in the presence of your children. In this way, they will not be too shocked when the home is broken up later.
  8. Give your children all the spending money they want. Never let them earn their own. Why should they have things as tough as you had them?

Now here are seven rules for raising positive children:

  1. Take time with and for your children. If you don’t the streets will.
  2. Be for your children a good example. Teaching them right from wrong by your words and your actions.
  3. Give your children positive ideals for living a positive life. Help them to think positive about themselves and their family culture.
  4. Plan a lot of positive activities with and for your children. What they do with you will be a part of them for the rest of their lives.
  5. Learn to tell your children “No.” They must not always have their way.
  6. Discipline your children. If you don’t punish them the Courts and the Justice System will.
  7. Teach your children about God, spiritual life and prayer. They won’t know right from wrong unless you teach them.

So here are two sets of rules. Which ones are you going to use?
