It’s a “Thank You Lord” Day.
OUR GOD AND OUR FATHER, ON THIS DAY WE GIVE YOU THANKS IN THE NAME OF JESUS. AMEN.
The BIBLE tells us to …give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:20 NLT) Today, if you don’t mind, I want to give GOD praise and thanks In the Name of JESUS for allowing me to see this day, my 38th Anniversary of being in the ministry. Beloved on this day in 1979 I had, what they called back then, my Trial Sermon. It was a night and service I will never forget.
Now over the years, I’ve had my ups and downs, my joys and heartaches, and my good times and bad times, but through it all, I can truly say GOD has been good to me and showered me with blessings and opportunities beyond my wildest dreams. Yes, I can say like the songwriter: I’ve had some good days, and I’ve had some hills to climb. I’ve had some weary days and some sleepless nights. But when I look around, and I think things over, all of my good days outweigh my bad days, so I won’t complain. Sometimes the clouds are low, and I can hardly see the road. Then I ask a question, “Lord, why so much pain?” But HE knows what’s best for me, although my weary eyes they can’t see, so I’ll just say thank you, Lord, I won’t complain. The Lord has been so good to me more than this old world, or you could ever be. HE’S been so good to me. HE dried all of my tears away and turned my midnights into day. So I’ll just say thank you, Lord. I’ve been lied on, but thank you, Lord. I’ve been talked about but thank you, Lord. I’ve been misunderstood but thank you, Lord. You might be sick with your body wracked with pain but thank you, Lord. The bills are due, and you don’t know where the money is coming from but thank you, Lord.
Yes, I thank GOD In the Name of JESUS for the great things I have done as a Pastor, Minister, and Chaplain. Back in the day, I was known as the Rappin’ Rev. I was one of the first, if not the first, to do motivational Christian Rap. Thank you, Lord.
I have served Calvary Baptist Church, Bernardtown Baptist Church, and Bethany Baptist Church. Thank you, Lord. I have preached hundreds of sermons. Thank you, Lord.
I have performed hundreds of weddings and funerals throughout the years. Thank you, Lord.
I now have hundreds who read my weekly article in the SCOOP Newspaper and my daily blogs on Facebook and on my website, www.yourspiritualmotivation.com. Thank you, Lord.
My first book “800 Sayings…” is doing well and I have a School Anger Management Program that is growing beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you, Lord.
Yes, I have so much to be thankful for. So I say Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord, In the Name of JESUS. Oh, I’m ready to do my dance, The Holy Ghost Slide. Come on Slide to the left get it get it. Slide to the right get it get it. Slide Baby Slide. Yes, it’s Sunday, and I pray that giving GOD thanks is a part of your agenda for today. If fact let us get this Holy Ghost Party started by you telling me, right now, what do you give GOD thanks for In the Name of JESUS? Remember no thanks, no blessings. AMEN SOMEBODY AMEN.
