JESUS IS

April 23rd

It’s a “JESUS IS” Day.

LORD, WE PRAISE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU ARE TO US. AMEN.

Lately, it seems that my messages have gotten longer and longer. I remember when I was younger an old preacher telling me the less I say, the more people remember and the more I say, the less people remember. So here is a short and sweet word based on four basic points about Jesus.

1) Jesus Is Absolutely Necessary.

He is the only way to get to heaven.  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV) Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV) Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11 NIV)

2) Jesus Is Exclusively Sufficient.

Whatever you need, He will provide. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7, 8 NIV) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14:12-14 NIV)

3) Jesus Is Instantaneously Accessible.

But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:8-13 NIV)

4) Jesus Is Perennially Satisfying.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8 NIV) Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (John 6:47-51 NIV)   “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)

Somebody needs to join me in giving The Lord some praise up in here. Come on Lets Holy Ghost Slide. Now Slide to the left, gets it get it. Slide to the right get it, get it. AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
