It’s a “Why I Belong” Day.
LORD, WE GIVE YOU THANKS, AND PRAISE FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP IN THE BODY OF CHRIST. AMEN.
One day a gentleman asked me: “Why do you belong and attend Church?” After some serious thought, this was my answer to his question.
“I belong and attend Church because if no one belonged and attended church, there would be no church to point men and women to God and heaven.
I belong and attend because I cannot ignore my spiritual nature which needs to be fed by the Holy Spirit. My Spiritual health is as necessary as my physical health.
I belong and attend because it benefits me and enables me to grow with others in my Christian walk. It gives me the knowledge and support I need to make life better for myself, my family and my community.
I belong and attend because in church I can feel the presence of The Lord and I can be a blessing to others who attend.
I belong and attend because in church I can be an example to others and teach them how to be a child of God. Yes, there I can teach, and I can learn.
I belong and attend because I need the strength that comes from worship and fellowship with other Christians.
When I am down, I have support and when I’m sick I have someone who will visit and pray for me.
I belong and attend because no matter how much I do for JESUS it is but little compared to what He did and does for me.”
So now I ask you: “Why do you belong and if you don’t, why not?”
