It’s a “Conversation with God” Day
LORD, LET THIS NOT BE OUR ACTIONS NEXT SUNDAY MORNING. AMEN.
Here is a conversation that somebody had with God one morning:
“You see, God, it’s like this: I could attend church more faithfully if your day were on another day. You have chosen a day that comes at the end of a hard week, and I’m all tired out. Not only that, but it’s the day following Saturday night, and Saturday night is the one time when I feel that I should go out and enjoy myself. Often it is after midnight when I reach home, and it is almost impossible to get up on Sunday morning. And you must realize that you have picked the very day on which the morning paper takes the longest to read – the day when the biggest meal of the week must be prepared – the day when there are all types of sports games on TV, all day long. I’d like to go to church, and I know that I should, but you have just chosen the wrong day. So I’m going back to bed.”
Lord, I thank God these are not my words, for this Sunday I’m going to church. What about you?
