It’s a “Judgment and Mercy” Day
LORD, WE GIVE YOU PRAISE BECAUSE OUR JUDGEMENT HAS BEEN SATISFIED BY THE MERCY OF JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.
There is an old Jewish traditional story which relates that after the fall of Adam and Eve, two angels of God –Judgment and Mercy – were sent forth together to do their bidding upon the sinning but redeemed race, and together they act to this day. You see, where one afflicts the other heals. Where one makes a rent, the other plants a flower. Where one creates a wrinkle, the other kindles a smile. Where one scowls a storm, the other spreads a rainbow. Where one poises a glittering sword, the other covers our naked head with succoring wings. Where one would send our spirits to hell, the other allows our souls to go to heaven. Somebody ought to give God some praise up in here up in here. Are you praising him?
