It’s a “I WILL TRUST AND NEVER DOUBT” Friday.
LORD, WE ASK THIS DAY THAT YOU HELP US BUILD UP OUR FAITH AND OUR TRUST IN YOU. AMEN.
My Father in the ministry, The Rev Dr. Wallace Charles Smith was famous for saying: “If you trust and never doubt you will see JESUS work it out.” With that in mind I want to share this story with you.
The story is told of a young widow with four children, who attend a small country church down south. Her husband was killed serving in the Army over in Afghanistan. She has a sweet personality as well as a warm and powerful voice. She sings in the choir and when she leads a song she will make you stand up and shout when all you wanted to do was sit there and just listen.
Well, she got laid off from her job. She had some savings but that began to run out. She got behind in all her bills especially her rent. The landlord even served her with an eviction notice. Her situation really looked bad. How were she and her children going to make it?
Well, throughout her circumstance she kept going to church and singing in the choir as well as giving what she could in the collection plate. Just when it seemed that her world was going to come crashing in, things began to work out in her favor. Her cousin moved in with her to help her out with the children and the rent. Church members began to support her with food and clothing. A neighbor even became a secret Santa for her and showered her and the children with a wonderful Christmas. Every week she applied for jobs but nothing was coming through for her. Then one day she got a call to come work at the town factory and was approached about some part-time work on the weekends.
As the Psalmist said, “Her cup was full and running over.” The LORD opened up the windows of heaven and poured her out a blessing because she never lost her faith even though the storm was raging in her life. She kept her soul anchored in The Lord. She not only has a new song to sing but she also has a new testimony about GOD being a provider. She has a new testimony about GOD being a way maker. She has a new testimony about GOD being her help in the time of trouble. She has a new testimony about GOD clothing and feeding her and her children. Yes, beloved she has a new testimony. Grand momma told me a long time ago: “He might not come when you call Him but He will always be right on time.” Can I get a witness? Are you going to trust Him?
Remember if you trust and never doubt you will see JESUS work it out and you will have a testimony too. I can hear somebody saying they already have a testimony. So take the time and tell us what GOD has done for you. He’ll bless you for sharing it. Amen!
